GYROTONIC®
The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a method of exercise conceived by Juliu Horvath this system decompresses the body from daily stress and the life long reaction to gravity. The idea is to strengthen and lengthen the muscles surrounding any given joint. By doing this we create a central connection to our limbs. This immense coordination creates freedom of movement and proper alignment and support for the overworked neck and shoulders.
Gyrotonic exercise is unique because the equipment was specifically designed around the human body to allow total freedom in movement, no restriction to speed or versatility, and enhances coordination, strength and flexibility. An instructor guides you through a series of circular and spiraling movements that incorporate principles of gymnastics, dance, yoga, swimming and tai chi. This series of exercises strengthens the musculature while mobilizing the joints through continuous flowing movement synchronized with specific breathing patterns. The equipment gives freedom and articulation in all the joints with strength and softness. The corresponding breathing patterns stimulate the nervous system, open up the energy pathways and oxygenate the blood.
Unlike most conventional exercise machines where linear or isolated movements are performed, the patented Gyrotonic Expansion System emphasizes multiple joint articulations without compression. Currently, the Gyrotonic Expansion System is used worldwide delivering great success with dancers, athletes, rehabilitation facilities, as well as general conditioning for people of all walks of life, age and health.
Gyrotonic exercise is a great supplement to Pilates because it brings a greater understanding into the circular motion of the body while still feeling safe and supported. Pilates is very linear and helps you expand your body against two oppositional points.
Gyrotonic movements do the same, but in a circular fashion helping to stretch and strengthen areas that tend become bound. The strength and coordination one finds in Pilates is helpful when adding Gyrotonic repertoire. Once the strength is there it is easier to find the freedom in movement and allow your body to move in ways you never thought possible.

GYROKINESIS® Coming this Summer!!
Gyrokinesis® is a great way to open up your body and frees the tension in your joints without the equipment. Expect
a full physical workout. Class will begin on a stool, with an instructor guiding you and gently warming up the
spine in rhythmical circular movements. Students then move to the floor and move through expansive hip openers,
eclectic arches and abdominal exercises that will cleanse your organs. Class leaves you feeling light and free to move
throughout your day. Gyrokinesis® is a great complement to Pilates and the GYROTONIC® equipment exercises.
